The decisions you make about your career are some of the toughest. Base them on knowledge, not just instinct, by getting first-hand experience of our business on one of our graduate work placement programmes. As well as soaking up complex business information, you’ll boost your commercial awareness, interpersonal skills, and self-confidence. You’ll also develop a genuine understanding of what we do and how we do it, but even more important, you’ll discover whether PwC and the type of work you could take on with us are right for you.
If you’re serious about exploring a career in professional services then join us on a ten month graduate work placement. It runs from September 2014 to the end of June 2015. If you do well, you could join us on a graduate role in autumn 2015.
You’ll be joining PwC to work where our business has the most need. It will be a demanding role that gives the opportunity to gain experience across lots of different parts of our business, or you could spend most of your time in one area. You’ll be based in London but you’ll be in demand and needed where the business wants you which may mean that you need to travel to other locations. This means we’re looking for resilient, intelligent graduates who are able to be agile, flexible in their working style, and above all, quick to learn.
What you’ll do
A graduate work placement gives you an opportunity to get ten months practical work experience with us. You’ll join us, and get an induction to PwC, and then you’ll jump straight into the role to learn through on- the-job training, as well as studying towards becoming a Chartered Accountant. This learning and study approach gives you a real feel for the work we do. If you do well, we’ll offer you a graduate role for the following year to continue your career with us.
Who this is for
You must be serious about a possible career with PwC. You need the same academic qualifications, skills and qualities we look for with joiners onto our graduate programme. What’s more, although the work placement gives you a little more flexibility around the way you join us, you should take advantage of it if your goal is to return to us on a graduate programme.
The work placement is also a great opportunity if you’re keen to build in some travelling time before you start your full-time career, as after the work placement you could still go travelling or do some voluntary work between completing the work placement, and re-joining as a graduate, if you’re made a job offer.
Whatever your plans, if you’ve already taken the first steps in your career, you’ll have added job security, more experience and of course, healthier finances.
What you’ll gain
You’ll study towards the Chartered certificate in Finance, Business and Accounting (CFAB) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). The CFAB is your first step to becoming a Chartered Accountant.
What you need to get in
Our expectations of you while on the graduate work placement will be just as high as those on the graduate programme. So the application and selection process is the same as if you’d join us on our Graduate programme.
Be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject and 300 UCAS tariff* (or equivalent)
Or,
Be on course for a 1st class degree in any subject and 240 UCAS tariff* (or equivalent)
*from up to three A Levels (excluding General Studies) or equivalent, taken in the same academic year and achieved at first sitting
Don’t have the academics but have an outstanding achievement? Outstanding potential takes many forms – academic success is just one of them. That’s why, with our ‘Outstanding Achievement’ entry route, you can apply to us if you meet one of our two requirements.
When to apply
There’s no application deadline but we’d advise you to apply as early as possible.
We know that the skills and experiences you develop with us will stay with you throughout your career. So join PwC. We’ll help you reach your full potential.
Take the opportunity of a lifetime.
