Overview
As a trainee in the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) department, you will join the research team that supports the national M&A advisory team. You will receive training and gain deep experience in the core skills of M&A through working in an established team on both internal and client facing projects. Reporting to the National Research Manager, you will have exposure from Day 1 to senior M&A professionals and you will be expected to contribute fully in a small but highly successful team.
Trainees will undertake supported study to achieve the Corporate Finance Qualification (CFQ) over 3 years, offered by the ICAEW. Progression to the main M&A deal team is expected but dependent on reaching an appropriate level of experience and professional development.
Business Area Overview
The primary responsibilities of the corporate finance trainee role include:
- Detailed company research reports to support various client facing and internal projects;
- Undertaking company valuations including researching comparable listed company and transaction multiples and in depth financial analysis;
- Building detailed financial models using Microsoft Excel;
- Preparing high quality pitch books and assisting on wider business development activities;
Attending client meetings and undertaking other ad-hoc projects and assignments as required.
Requirements
2:1 degree in any discipline
280 UCAS Points or equivalent, excluding General Studies
Grade B or above in GCSE Maths and English
