Our growing VAT Consultancy team of approximately 4 people support their clients across all sectors and industries by keeping them on top of the constantly changing VAT rules, which come about as a result of changes in the VAT legislation, HMRC guidance and practice, and also ever evolving case law in VAT.
As a member of the VAT Consultancy team, you will help clients manage their VAT requirements, plan for the best way to navigate VAT issues, and help them to try and minimise their VAT costs where possible.

Key aspects of the role include:
- Being responsible for managing a small portfolio of VAT compliance clients.
- Producing draft emails for other team members to respond to queries.
- Dealing with financial data, preparation of VAT workings, including checking documents (import/invoices) to ensure VAT compliance rules are met.
- Submitting periodic VAT Returns on behalf of clients where required.
- Supporting the wider team with consultancy projects and advice.
- Preparing draft correspondence on client matters for review.
- Taking an interest in the affairs of, and get to know the clients, so that you are aware of current work being dealt with by the team.
- Assisting other team members on ad-hoc requests and administration as and when they arise.
Training Provided
We offer a comprehensive, fully supervised training programme spanning approximately 36 months. You will begin by completing the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) qualification before progressing to become a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). Training includes a mix of classroom-based taught courses with leading training providers, private study, and regular testing. Paid study leave is granted and full coverage of course and exam fees for your first attempts.

No previous experience is required for our trainee roles, but to apply you will need to have:
- Or expect to obtain a 2.1 degree in any discipline
- A minimum of 120 UCAS Tariff points from your top 3 A-levels, or equivalent (300 using the old tariff)
- A minimum of Level 6 (B grade using the old system) in GCSE Maths and English Language, or equivalent
- The right to work in the UK without restrictions for the duration of the training contract
