Our Business Tax team of approximately 40 people provides a wide range of compliance and advisory services to clients in diverse sectors including finance, retail, property, construction, technology and media. The tax landscape is constantly changing, and our clients rely on us to tackle complex problems and support them through any changes that will impact their business.
As a member of the Business Tax team, the nature of your work will flex in line with our clients’ situations, that’s what makes this role interesting – no day is ever the same.
This role is due to commence in August 2025.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Preparing tax computations and returns for a range of corporate clients and partnerships, under the supervision of a Manager.
- Drafting correspondence on technical tax matters for Manager review.
- Discussing and resolving basic queries directly with clients, via email, Teams calls and in face-to-face meetings.
- Producing clear and technically accurate letters for submission to HM Revenue & Customs.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the firm as part of our full service offering to clients.
- Developing your technical knowledge and learning to identify tax planning opportunities for clients, and supporting Managers with interesting tax advisory projects.
Training Provided
New joiners in the Business Tax team have the unique opportunity to gain not one but two chartered qualifications over 39 months: the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and the ACA qualification provided by the ICAEW.
You will study towards the qualifications via a level 7 apprenticeship, building not only on your technical skills, but also on your personal and professional development. Training consists of a combination of college courses, private study and regular exams. You will attend college courses in the run up to exams and all course and exam fees are paid for. As you progress through your training you will receive incremental salary increases as you hit various milestones in your qualification.

No previous experience is required for our trainee roles, but to apply you will need to have:
- Or expect to obtain a 2.1 degree in any discipline, or equivalent
- A minimum of 120 UCAS Tariff points from your top 3 A-levels, or equivalent (300 using the old tariff)
- A minimum of Level 6 (B grade using the old system) in GCSE Maths and English Language, or equivalent
- The right to work in the UK without restrictions for the duration of the training contract
