HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) recent crackdown on tax avoidance and evasion has recovered £23.9bn, the highest since records began.
More than £8bn came from large businesses, £1bn from criminals and £2.7bn from tackling avoidance schemes in court.
HMRC aims to secure a total of £100bn by March 2015, as a result of investigations since May 2010 into unpaid tax.
