The announcement of the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers took place at the National Apprenticeship Awards ceremony on the 14 November 2013 at the Skills Show, NEC Birmingham. Compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service, The City & Guilds Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers’ List 2013 has been selected from over 1,600 entries from this year’s National Apprenticeship Awards.
The Awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the achievements of the country’s most outstanding apprentices and apprenticeship employers. PwC also won the London region Investors in People Award for ‘Apprenticeship Employer Newcomer of the Year’ and was recognised in the national top three.
PwC was the first firm to launch a Higher Apprenticeship in professional services in 2012. Students qualify at level 4, equivalent to the first rung on the Higher Education ladder, and have the opportunity to be operating at the same level in the organisation as their graduate peers after as little as two years. Higher Apprenticeship roles are based across England and Northern Ireland.
Gaenor Bagley, head of people at PwC, said: ‘We’re delighted to be recognised as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer. Apprentices meet a genuine business need in our organisation and our Higher Apprenticeship programme provides first class training and experience. Higher Apprenticeships are an exciting opportunity for employers to develop the business leaders of tomorrow and support UK growth.’
