ICAEW has named Liz Rylatt as its new executive director, finance, operations and members.
Liz, who is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, will have executive responsibility for members, UK Regions, marketing, IT & property and finance. She will also become a member of ICAEW’s board. Her first day at ICAEW will be Wednesday 8 January 2014.
Liz joins the ICAEW with over eighteen years of experience working at the BBC. She said: ‘Having been a member for over 25 years, I have huge admiration for all that ICAEW achieves and am delighted to be joining such a prestigious organisation. I am looking forward to using my skills and knowledge in helping to deliver ICAEW’s strategy as well as to getting out across the UK to meet fellow members.’
Routes into accountancy
Liz qualified as an accountant with KPMG. After a period working in finance departments for large retailers, she joined the BBC, initially as chief management accountant for BBC Network Television. During an eighteen year career at the BBC, Liz undertook a wide variety of roles before being appointed as director of transition and business management in September 2012. In this role, she was the divisional board member responsible for all aspects of business management, corporate governance and communications.
