The Big Four accountancy firm Deloitte has acquired consulting firm Monitor in a £72.6m deal to expand Deloitte’s consulting arm.
Last November Monitor filed for bankruptcy, with estimated liabilities and assets of between $100 million and $500 million. Clients included Fortune 500 companies, governments and social sector organisations. This is expected to complement Deloitte’s traditional consulting base in the healthcare and life sciences industries.
Monitor’s UK branch based in south west London will operate under the name Monitor Deloitte.
Simon Hammett, CEO of Monitor Deloitte Europe, says: ‘This acquisition will transform our strategy consultancy practice on a global scale and further accelerate our impact in the UK. The growing business demands placed on companies today mean their needs for strategic guidance are increasing.’
